The Cornerstone Café opened on Market Hill in 2014, when Sarah and Tom Ashworth decided Nettlecombe needed somewhere the coffee was strong, the cake was homemade, and everybody left knowing your name a little better than when they arrived.

Twelve years on, not much has changed. We still work with a small independent roastery down in Devon, our cakes come out of our own kitchen before the doors open, and our lunch specials depend entirely on what looked good at the greengrocer’s that morning.

Regulars have been known to hold entire book clubs, first dates, and Sunday-morning debriefs at the corner table by the window. Whatever brings you in, pull up a chair — you’re welcome here.
